Bangers and Mash Ball -event photos

The East of England Agricultural Society’s BANGERS AND MASH BALL, the first event to be put on by the new Membership and Social Committee, lived up to its promise of providing a fabulous evening of great food, outstanding entertainment and plenty of dancing.
It was a memorable evening with a meal that championed local food, and allowed Society members from the farming and agribusiness sectors to come together with their families and friends in a social setting. The talented Vision party band soon had crowds taking to the floor to literally dance the night away.

Not only was a good time had by all, but money was raised for two worthwhile causes – the Marshal Papworth Trust and Little Miracles.

Watch out for the next Members and Social Committee event, coming soon.

Kids Country wins further recognition

The education programme launched by the East of England Agricultural Society under its Kids Country banner continues to go from strength to strength. Following hard on the heels of being awarded an Innovative Learning Award by Bayer CropScience the team now has been accredited for offering good quality educational experiences and managing risk effectively with the award of the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) quality mark to add to its recognition as a Learning Destination within the Children’s University initiative. OFSTED says that LOtC is crucial to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum (response to Select Committee review, October 2010)

Education Manager Sandra Lauridsen said “The appetite for learning about food and farming is ever growing. This year we will give over 7000 children an opportunity to learn more about a great array of topics centred on farm to fork themes.”
Next on the horizon is the official opening of a giant willow maze at the Kids Country Food and Farming Day on 11th July – an event with over 5000 children already booked in and a growing waiting list.
