Queen Mother’s Handwriting Awards 2015

Her Majesty The Queen has kindly consented to the Society continuing with the popular Handwriting Competition to be organised in memory of
Her Majesty The Queen Mother.

The Results for last year’s Handwriting Awards are available to view online now.

Entries for our 2015 competition are also open and the schedule is available to view online or download here
.This competition is open to all boys and girls of school age living or attending schools, within the Counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire and Peterborough.

The 1st Prize winner will receive a Cross pen kindly donated by A T Cross Ltd engraved with their name.

The 2nd, 3rd and Highly Commended winner with be awarded a certificate to commemorate their success.

Arrangements will be made with the prize winners’ school for a Director of the East of England Agricultural Society to attend the school to present the prize.

Horrells win with Royal Seal!

Horrells win with Royal Seal!

Agricultural Society members and local farming family have this week reigned supreme with a great win at the United Auctions annual Beef Shorthorn Cattle show and sale, held in Stirling. Their win was sealed with Royal approval when Patron of the Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society HRH The Princess Royal congratulated the breeders and stockmen at the show.  Stockman for Pode Hole Farm Roy McDonald seen here chatting to The Princess Royal.

Harry Horrell’s Podehole Gladiator (lot 33) took the Senior Championship against some of the best stock in the country, and then went on to take the Reserve Overall Supreme Championship. This January 2013-born Chapelton Clansman son is out of Podehole Gypsy Delores, a Chapelton Promoter daughter.

Harry and his parents Charles and Sally, who farm at Thorney, are regulars at the Stirling Bull sales, and own one of the leading Beef Shorthorn herds in the country.
