Jeremy Staples – Chief Executive Officer
Jeremy joined the Society in June 2011 having spent many years as a Chartered Surveyor based in London. For the previous 9 years he had been the Managing Director of the National Shooting Centre at Bisley. Jeremy is responsible for both the Society and the commercial activities of SGS.
Amanda Rodziewicz – PA to Chief Executive Officer
Amanda joined the Society in 2012 having spent many years in PA/Office Manager positions at home and overseas. Before joining the Society Amanda worked in Australia 5 years as Office Coordinator for the Aboriginal Education Unit of a NSW Education Authority. Amanda is responsible for the administration into and out of the CEO’s office.
Quentin Arnold – Company Secretary and Finance Director
Quentin is the Finance Director for the East of England Agricultural Society and for Showground Services. Quentin produces accurate and timely financial information to both boards, as well as financial strategies to support the broader charitable aims of the Society. Quentin is a Chartered Management Accountant and a Chartered Engineer with a BSC(Hons) in Engineering and an MBA.
Val Brooks – Accounts Supervisor
Val, as the accounts supervisor, has been looking after the accounts department since 2004 having come from a busy country estate office where she dealt with farming accounts and lettings. She loves all things agricultural and enjoys helping with Kids Country events. Val has also been assisting since 2008 with the administration of the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show. She is now working towards the completion of her AAT qualification.
William is the Agricultural Business Development Manager. His main objective is to put the agriculture back into the Agricultural Society.
He has been a member of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society for over 25 years and a member of their Council, cattle and catering committees, bringing sound knowledge and experience of Agricultural Societies. In 2006 he represented the RUAS as a next generation delegate at the RASC conference in Calgary and in 2009 was awarded a Nuffield Farming Scholarship to study Performance improvement in the Suckler herd. In 2013 he was sponsored by the Farmers Club to take part in the renowned Windsor Leadership Trusts Emerging Leaders’ course.
Ruth is the Agricultural Administrator. She joined the Society in April 2014 for a months work experience as part of her BSc (Hons) Land Management (Agriculture) Degree, and ended up seeing the year through. She returned a few months later to work for the Society and hasn’t looked back since, becoming a permanent employee in December 2015.
Ruth works across a number of society events, as well as with Cultiv8 and Membership.
Sandra Lauridsen – Education Manager
Sandra’s passion and enthusiasm in her role as Education Manager is reflected in the success of the Society’s various education programmes, including the recently launched Kids Country events. Coordinating with schools to participate in our fun-packed education programme, Sandra is also responsible for overseeing the Marshal Papworth Trust and liaising with overseas students and scholarship applications.
Jo Baker – Education Assistant
Jo worked in public relations and project management before joining the Society in 2014. Jo works alongside Sandra to deliver an extensive hands-on children’s education programme throughout the year, culminating in the annual Food & Farming Day which is attended by over 5,000 children.
