East of England Farming Conference

After a fantastic event in 2021, the East of England Farming Conference returns to the East of England Showground on 17 November 2022

With a range of guest speakers and industry experts leading the conversation on this year’s theme: ‘Greener and Leaner – rising to the challenge of a new climate’. Returning for the sixth East of England Farming Conference, hundreds of farmers, business leaders and speakers can look forward to a jam-packed day of lively discussion as the sector seeks to work together to tackle the challenges surrounding their businesses becoming ‘Greener and Leaner’.

Chaired by Joe Stanley, local farmer, conservationist and author, the first morning session on ‘Policy and Leadership’ will see Lord Curry, crossbench peer in the Horse of Lords, joined by Mark Tufnell, President of the Country Land & Business Association and AB Agri’s Head of Commercial Responsibility, Jen Butcher, as they discuss key themes and challenges as industry and decision makers for the sector.

The second session of the day is an International Masterclass, which will be chaired by Farming Conference Chairman and local farmer, Tom Martin with Rick Clark, a regenerative farmer from the USA joining remotely to speak to all the delegates from his farm in Indiana, where he has developed a unique system for building soil health whilst producing profitable cash crops.

After lunch and great networking opportunities for all delegates including meeting event sponsors including AF Group, Agreena, British Sugar, Brown & Co, John Deere, Oakbank, Roythornes and Soil Fertility Services there will be a final session. This focuses on Input use efficiency the road to Net Zero and is chaired by Teresa Meadoes, Head of Environment, Audit and Public Affairs at BASIS.
