We rely on volunteer support to deliver our Kids Country programme. Some volunteers can only give time outside of working hours and some can only attend once or twice a year but we still appreciate every minute!

Some have relevant skills and knowledge to share with children, and others do not want core tasks or responsibilities but are happy to help in the background. All are equally valued and we are always keen to hear from anyone interested in becoming involved.

For an informal chat or a walk around the Showground please contact Jo Baker

“Whilst a ‘full-on’ day, I found it most rewarding to see the enjoyment and knowledge the children gained from attending the event.” Robin Suckling

“As a volunteer I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would love the opportunity of participating another year.” Angela Lee

“Thanks for a great day… I really enjoyed myself” Julie Hayes

Corporate Volunteers

Our corporate volunteer teams are building and we welcome contact from businesses and other organisations that wish to become involved. Please contact Jo Baker for more information.

“Thank you both very much for a wonderful day!” Helena Fraser, Santander

“In truth, I volunteered for Kids Country as it had to be better than painting something, our usual task. I’m so glad I did now… To see so many smiling faces and children obviously enjoying themselves was very gratifying. We were blessed with a wonderful day and it all seemed to be over in a flash. I met some lovely people and went home tired but happy. Will I be coming next year? You better believe it.” John Skeels, Perkins Engines

“The event was enjoyable and rewarding, so much so we already have volunteers for next year!” Peter Nelson, Barclays

“I love seeing the enjoyment on the children’s faces and the enthusiasm to learn about what they are seeing or touching. It is a very tiring, full on day but a rewarding experience.” Alan Wells, Perkins Engines

Expert Volunteers Delivery of high quality education events is only possible by engaging help from within the farming community. Our education team is always looking for help with the Kids Country events and to extend its reach through to older children and students including those considering a career in the agri sector.

Anyone able to help at a Kids Country event,  provide visiting  opportunities to their farms and businesses, or offer help at workshops and speaker meetings are invited to get in touch with Sandra Lauridsen
