Bedfordshire YFC county show and rally

Bedfordshire Young Farmers is celebrating its 70th year this year with the 69th Annual Show and Rally being hosted by North Beds Young Farmers at Manor Farm, Green End, Pertenhall, Bedfordshire, MK44 2AZ, by kind permission of the Bates Family on Saturday 21st May 2016. This will be the 7th time the family have hosted the rally at the farm – “quite an achievement and commitment from such wonderful hosts and we know the site works well and the rally committee promise to put on yet another wonderful day” Says David Day this year’s rally Chairman.

This is the highlight of the year with activities going on all day long. Bedfordshire Young Farmers is one of the smallest counties in the National Federation of Young Farmers which has over 25,000 members nationwide in 644 clubs this makes it one of the largest rural youth organisation and it is run by young people for its members. Open to all who have a passion for the countryside who want to make lifelong friends, have fun, learn a wide range of skills, travel and take part in many competitions. So if you are between 10 and 26 and want to have fun make sure you start to join in.

Bedfordshire YFC has 7 clubs within the county and over 400 members and really knows how to have fun. On rally day the members start arriving at the rally site from 7am with livestock, handicrafts, cookery and flowers ready for a fun filled action packed day. Throughout the day numerous competitions take place which come to a finale in the  main ring in the afternoon with a hard fought tug of war competition, grand parade of winning stock, parade of hounds, and at the end the long awaiting and highly contested decorated floats competition and the flour and water fight !

The day offers something for all, with about 2500 general public in attendance enjoying the numerous trade stands, craft stalls, children’s entertainment area, vintage tractors, show jumping and main ring attractions.

Entry costs £8 per head which includes free car parking and show yearbook. Under 12’s free.
