East of England Winter Stock Festival 2020 cancelled

With summer show qualifiers to the Young Stock Person of the Year having not taken place and continued uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the East of England Agricultural Society has cancelled this year’s Winter Stock Festival.

The event has built a reputation for enabling farmers to show some of the finest of the UK’s primestock as well as educating a new generation of livestock enthusiasts – attracting students from many agricultural colleges to take part in The College Challenge won last year by Newton Rigg. However, faced with so many uncertainties the Society has regrettably decided to cancel the 2020 event.

“We are grateful to those businesses and individuals who have supported the event by providing sponsorship, taking trade stands and exhibiting livestock,” said Alison Queenborough, the Society’s Chief Operating Officer. “We are sad to make this decision and will be seeking ways to fulfil our commitment to education in this sector in the coming year.”
