This Society’s annual Shuttleworth Lecture will take place on the 12th March at Shuttleworth College.  This years guest speaker is Sarah Hendry, Director General of the CLA.

Bio: Sarah Hendry is the Director General of the CLA. After studying Modern Languages at Oxford University, she has spent most of her career in the Civil Service, working mostly within Defra but also in the Cabinet Office and Department of Health. She was a Director for 12 years and has been responsible for a wide range of policy areas including water, flood defence, rural development, Common Agricultural Policy reform, animal health and welfare, farming, forestry and climate change.   Sarah was awarded a CBE in 2006 for her work on climate change.

Please arrive from 7pm to begin at 7.30pm

The Shuttleworth Lecture is a great avenue to introduce our members, the college students and the local farming community to new and innovative ideas in agriculture and the allied industries and informing them on current events that can affect their business and futures.
