The Society
The East of England Agricultural Society has a rich history dating back to 1797. The core goals of the Society are much the same now as they were at its inception, with the focus centered around promoting agriculture and rural life in the East of England.
The Society, who are a registered charity, are currently based at the East of England Showground in Peterborough and from here run a number of events and initiatives to help promote agriculture and rural life across their catchment counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire and beyond.
The Society runs a number of initiatives, from Kids Country our children’s education programme to our Scholars Programme, which is to help drive the careers in the agricultural sector. The Society are also responsible for the management of the Marshal Papworth Fund and the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show.
At the heart of the organisation is a membership which is open to all. Our membership helps support the Society’s charitable objectives.
